Free Non-Digital Resources to Use with AAC Clients:
Use pictures from your client’s weekend and/or extracurricular activities to initiate a structured
conversation
Create a Pictello story with your client
Listen to your client’s favorite music by asking client to request and/or comment on his/her’s favorite song
Use topic board with picture icons to create structured conversations with your client
Participate in role play scenarios with your client (ordering food from restaurant, trick-or-treating, etc.)
Complete puzzles with your client
Participate in cooking, hygiene-related, and holiday activities with your client
Digital Resources to Use with AAC Clients:
Cognishine: A comprehensive digital intervention platform for SLPs that offers thousands of
evidence-based, ready-made activities across a variety of contexts
Bamboozle: SLPs and educators can make their own games for clients that target the client’s specific
goals (good to use for articulation and vocabulary goals)
Boom Cards: Interactive, self-checking digital task cards used for educational activities. Clients receive
immediate feedback and SLPs/teachers can track their client’s progress
PowerPoint: SLPs can create their own powerpoints including themes and functional vocabulary to review
with clients
EdPuzzle (Free Trial): A video-based learning platform that allows SLPs/teachers to embed questions
and interactive elements into videos to check comprehension
Everyday Speech (Free Trial): A social-emotional learning (SEL) platform with video modeling, games,
and activities designed to teach communication, behavior, and social skills
Youtube Videos: SLPs can incorporate client’s interests into therapy sessions using Youtube videos
Wheel of Names: A customizable digital spinner used for randomly selecting names or items—great for
class participation, rewards, or decision-making
Animal Web Cams (San Diego Zoo): Live-streaming cameras from the San Diego Zoo that allow viewers
to watch animals like pandas, elephants, and giraffes in real time
Jam Board: A collaborative digital whiteboard tool by Google that allows multiple users to brainstorm,
draw, and share ideas in real time.
