We strongly encourage parents to be a part of the therapeutic team. If your child is young and or fearful of new situations it may be helpful for you to sit in while the evaluation is taking place. However, some children may actually perform better when the parent is not present.
If you are a BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, or UHC participant, we will bill your insurance company directly. If you are a private pay client, we ask that payment for the initial evaluation be made at the time of service. We will provide you with a completed bill, including all insurance codes needed for your submission to the insurance company. Insurance copays are due at the time of treatment unless a credit card is on file. Wee Speech accepts cash, checks, Master Card and Visa.
All of the therapists are certified and licensed in their respective fields. Our therapists have extensive training beyond the requirements of certification. Many of our therapists have an NDT certification. We strongly encourage learning through continuing education.
We understand and appreciate a cancellation when your child is ill. Illness calls can be made prior to 8:00 a.m. on the day of the session. We require a 24 hour notice for all other cancellations.
We ask that a doctor's order for evaluation and or treatment be in place prior to your first visit.
Generally insurance companies will pay for an initial evaluation. It is helpful to check your policy to determine what is required by your insurance company prior to your child's appointment. For example, the insurance company may require a doctor's order or a pre certification.
Each child's needs vary. This is a question which can be answered by your therapist after the initial evaluation.
Parents are requested to stay in the building. Your child may need you. Other times, the therapist might request your attendance in order to teach, explain or demonstrate activities that you might be asked to perform at home.
Presently, we are contracted by Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare and CIGNA. We are happy to look into other insurance contracts.
