Can I be present during the evaluation?

We strongly encourage parents to be a part of the therapeutic team. If your child is young and or fearful of new situations it may be helpful for you to sit in while the evaluation is taking place. However, some children may actually perform better when the parent is not present.

What method of payment is required?

If you are a BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, or UHC participant, we will bill your insurance company directly. If you are a private pay client, we ask that payment for the initial evaluation be made at the time of service. We will provide you with a completed bill, including all insurance codes needed for your submission to the insurance company.  Insurance copays are due at the time of treatment unless a credit card is on file. Wee Speech accepts cash, checks, Master Card and Visa.

What hours and days is the facility open?

Wee Speech, P.C. is open Monday-Thursday from 8-6 and Friday 8-12. Hours may vary depending on your therapist or time of year.

What qualifications does the therapist have?

All of the therapists are certified and licensed in their respective fields. Our therapists have extensive training beyond the requirements of certification. Many of our therapists have an NDT certification. We strongly encourage learning through continuing education.

What happens if I need to cancel an appointment?

We understand and appreciate a cancellation when your child is ill. Illness calls can be made prior to 8:00 a.m. on the day of the session. We require a 24 hour notice for all other cancellations.

Can my child be seen without a doctor's order?

We ask that a doctor's order for evaluation and or treatment be in place prior to your first visit.

Will my insurance pay for an evaluation and or treatment?

Generally insurance companies will pay for an initial evaluation. It is helpful to check your policy to determine what is required by your insurance company prior to your child's appointment. For example, the insurance company may require a doctor's order or a pre certification.

If treatment is recommended, how often will my child be seen?

Each child's needs vary. This is a question which can be answered by your therapist after the initial evaluation.

Can I leave the facility during my child’s appointment?

Parents are requested to stay in the building. Your child may need you. Other times, the therapist might request your attendance in order to teach, explain or demonstrate activities that you might be asked to perform at home.

Does your facility contract with my insurance company?

Presently, we are contracted by Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare and CIGNA. We are happy to look into other insurance contracts.

Can I bring my other children to the therapy sessions?

Yes. Siblings may wait in our child friendly waiting room in the clinic.

Are you DSCC approved?

Yes. Many of our therapists are DSCC approved. 

Do you accept Public Aid or All Kids?

Not at this time.

Does your facility provide services to children ages birth to 3?

Yes. Our therapists are well trained and have numerous years treating speech language and feeding needs in the birth to three child.
