Heading Back to School
By: Janelle Snyder M.S., CCC/SLP

The start of the new school year is fast approaching. Now is a good time to think about preparing your child for the transition back to school. Here are a few ways to help your child with this transition.

Meet the teacher/school – check with your child’s school to see if they have a day for your child to meet his/her teacher and see where their classroom will be

Practice driving/walking to school – practice the drive or walk to school with your child so they know how far the school is and what the school looks like

Get the backpack ready – have your child help pick out and pack his/her backpack so they know what is inside and where to find their school supplies

Talk about what to expect – let your child know what to expect to happen once school starts (getting up early, going to school, homework, etc.)

Make a schedule – make a schedule detailing what the school day will like (morning routine, school day, pick up time, after school activities, etc.)

Fall Schedule & Holidays
Fall schedule begins the week of August 26th. Please let us know if you will be taking time off for the fall holidays. We will make every effort to reschedule sessions to ensure that continuity of care is maintained.

We Continue to Learn
Wee Speech will be hosting a LAMP-Language Acquisition through Motor Planning workshop on September 20, 21, 2018 in our lower level conference room. Space is still available!

Comings and Goings!
This month we say goodbye to Devin Manning. We will miss her! Please welcome Margaret Morris M.S., CCC/SLP. Marge comes to us with many years of clinical experience. We are excited to add her knowledge to our team!

What Are We Blogging about in August?
